RGB 0-100-0 (Green)

Good evening from the wide brown land. Theme Thursday once again and colours rule as they do each month although I wish someone would suggest Aubergine or Rustic or Magnolia rather than the basic primaries and composites . . ..

Here in the land of water shortages, red dust and willly willys . .on verandahs we sit, listening to crickets and cane toads and watch sunsets and the sugar cane burn . . . Of course I'm lying I live in the suburbs of Sydney and whilst it's quiet the only sign of moisture on most occasions is frogs, drips on the tin roof and the sound of sweat seeping down my cleavage. Actually recent rain has been a Godsend and the world is filled with 'green'.

We still can't water our lawns or wash our cars with a hose . . but until I actually went through my Flickr account I didn't realise how much green there actually is around here. And if anyone has some spare time this weekend, I could do with some help mowing and whipper snipping . . .

A welcome sunshower on a balmy summer evening

New Years eve fireworks in emerald green . . .

Latrine door graffiti'd by inmates at Melbourne Gaol

Huge cactussy thing at Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens . . reminded me of the perfection of a nautilus shell . . .

Ocky . . former lead singer for Aktor . . the job's open if anyone's interested. Taken at Home Bar in Darling Harbour

Where there's a dark, moist corner . .greenery survives and thrives. Bella Vista Farmhouse . .

OK . . .one for the boys to ogle and for us girly swats to wish our ass looked like that. . . C'mon . .you know you want it!

Spill, Baino... what were you in gaol for? Was that your phone number scratched into the door?

I love each and every one of your picture. You have a great green collection. They are all amazing. If I have to choose a favorite I choose the last one but the firework is grand too.

Fun! - that last one would make a very unique St. Patrick's Day poster too... is she driving the snakes out of Ireland?

Nice collection of green, Baino. I wonder if they let you name unknown cactus-y things in the botanic gardens? You could name this one the Fibonacci Cactus.

That sunshower is positively Eden-like.

And yeah, that is an ass worth wishing for.

How did you upload your voice there? I am asking it because I was donating my blood for healthcare and my hand hurts now so it is not pleasant to type. Moreover it is fun.

That top photo is gorgeous! (Looks like something out of Avatar.)

I love the succulent plants. That's a great shot as well (the cactus).

What's a willy willy? (just asking).

Great shots as always, Baino

Would love to help you with your mowing and snipping but I'm a bit low on energy reserves at the moment.

Now, I'm off to tell Grannymar I've found her an outfit for Paddy's Day!

My eyes are green. does that count?

You take a mighty fine set of photos, but surely there was a bloke doing the butt-wiggling thing as well - or was he wearing red?

Tsup*!* I love our sun shower days, so true when you look back over photos and compare how brown we were just a few short months ago even if the grass and weeds are bursting out of the earth I'd sooner be standing in a puddle than a crack*!*

There is a lot of green down here in Tassie, and I'm not talking about the tourists.

I most certainly do wish my ass looked like that; not to mention the rest of me.
I love the green fronds in the corner of the log cabin, and the green cactusy thing is amazing.

I wish I was there to look at the first picture. Now for the last picture – I don’t wish to look at it – I wish I had a derrière like that!

That first picture of the rain... fantastic. Wish I could take photos as good as these.

We have relos who have had to temporarily relocate to Sydney - raining all the time is what we here.

We've had the first rain in about 6 weeks here in Adelaide. Everything is brown and dry. Time for a drink.
