Well the weather cleared a little this morning so Lily and I went for our constitutional walk. It was cold but dry and you could be forgiven for thinking that we lived in the country rather than the suburbs:
Plenty of water in the man made creeks . . yep this one is totally man made . . .
Even a billabong . . this one's natural . . .
Labradors have no nerve endings . . .
Some things still bloom . .
Coming back through the paddock we were greeted by two extremely dirty ponies, one of which had an itch . . so what do you do? Hell, scratch!
Much better . . he's actually white!
This post made me smile. What a lovely day, interesting blooms, aqua lab, and I can't say I've ever seen a slide show of a pony scratch his itch. Good fun all the way around.
ReplyDeletethat is usually how i scratch my itch as well...smiles. thanks for taking us on a nice walk...what is that orange plant?
ReplyDeleteNice area you live in Baino. Streams AND billabongs. So many trees too. Well, okay, I have lots of trees in my suburb too.
ReplyDeleteI have a backscratcher for my itches.
You'd think the pony would find a drier patch of ground to scratch that itch!
ReplyDeleteI get my Sunday constitutional going in about 9 hours. It'll be bird walk Sunday and then I'll wander around afterward in my usual places. I don't think I'll see any ponies rolling in the mud, though.
OMG your photographs, hells!!
ReplyDeletethese are GREAT shots. manohman, have you come a long way.
i like seeing you in your world.
i hope your weekend is good. is it over already when you read this?
hey! i love you!

Tsup*!* I love spotting a horse enjoying a good roll ... my dog always has a sneeze after her roll do horses snort when they get back up?
ReplyDeleteIt's been cool and windy up here, looks like Lily had a wonderful walk and swim, she in training for the next caninelympics?
I could do with a nice roll in the mud.
ReplyDeleteI'm not kidding!
I enjoyed the walk with you, and really love the photo of the creek. Oh to be able to stretch and scratch like animals.
ReplyDeleteBut we can stretch and scratch. We can even use our hands to scratch ourselves which animals unfortunately can't (unless they have paws). A bit of a nuisance when you have to resort to rolling around or rubbing yourself against a tree trunk.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos- and what a lovely walk you took. Good for the heart and soul :)
ReplyDeleteEven if the creek was made in China it's still a nice way to spend a day by the looks of things.
ReplyDeleteNice pics. Nice horse. Nice area - you are very privileged to live where you do.
ReplyDeleteLucky you, to have such an idyllic place to walk!
ReplyDeleteIn future I'm scratching my itches like that!! Looks so much fun :0)
ReplyDeleteSo then - did you give your horse a wash and brush up after your walk???
ReplyDeleteNot to mention lovely Lily after her swim!!!
Yeah yeah, talking about showing off ;-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tropical flowers, wonderful creeks, billabongs, ponies in acres of grassland....
Have you noticed that white horses prefer to be black? Willem always manages to get far dirtier than the ladies. Or is it just because he's a man...
Well, I now know what a billabong is! lol
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so awesome!
HAHAHAHAH! Oh what a sight it must have been. A horse with an itch! HAHAHAHAH!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely sights, Baino.
Do you have a new camera?
I always love your photos of that beautiful white horse! And, Lily is ALWAYS a great companion...she exudes friendship!
ReplyDeleteOh! I loved this. The photos are so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHe may be white, but look how contented he is afterwards!
ReplyDelete....and Lily swimming is lovely. Awwww...
Looks like fun, for everyone!
ReplyDeletenothing like a good scratch!
ReplyDeletetons of rain here today, sun came out for a bit, then it poured again...
What do you consider to be cold? I suspect we may have different standards for that.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics Baino! Lovely place to live!
ReplyDeleteThe orange plant definitely isn't from around here but I enjoy pictures of places I haven't been so thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteagh..it's way to hot here for a rolling itch, can't hardly get the Tobs out in the heat, but might venture out between the raindrops for a stretch...we need a clean little stream to play in, how lucky you are!
ReplyDeletelovely swim and scratch. wish I could jump in!
ReplyDeleteMy WV: hidistic; almost a word, but not quite.
Hope you're having a good week, Baino.
Your pony's itch reminds me of this... 'the bare necessities of life'
