Happy Anniversary and Pass the Prawn Pilaf

It's no secret, I love 'doing lunch' especially with a view, good company and an occasion to celebrate. This week my darling parents-in-law, the cutest octogenarians on the planet celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. I love these people so intensely it's not funny. We've had our heartaches and our fallings out but they are my steadfast friends. What widow do you know of that keeps in touch with their son's parents after 25 years? They are awesome in a blinding, epiphanous way and it was a privilege and an honour to celebrate with them today. Happy Anniversary Bet and Art, you are my lovelies and if anyone is as lucky and as in love as you after 60 years,  they are blessed indeed.  I should be so lucky.

That is beautiful ...and it's a very rare circumstance where a widow would stay in touch all those years. It of course speaks of your beauty inside and out.

xx

Wonderful tribute to nice sounding people. I never had in-laws, only distant relations on my husband's side.

I too love the card.

They look like a happy couple indeed. And it's great that you're so close to them when so many relatives fall out big-time.

Clare's don't-touch expression is priceless!

You have such a beautiful family. And your parents in law have good genes. Eighty odd years old you say? They don't look it. How fortunate are they to have found each other and to have you as their daughter in law.
I feel all warm and smiley now ;-)

Congratulations Betty and Arthur!

What a fit looking couple of lovebirds!

My Mum and Dad will also be 60 years married this month and are a far cry (very far) from this pair.

It says a lot for the Aussie climate!

I'm sure Ray was with you all in spirit.

(((hugs)))

HOw lucky you are to have such 'good old sticks' (my best form of praise) for -in-laws; I'm utterly jealous.

And how Aussie is it for a water dragon to join youse all...?!!

Cute water dragon. I love the card you made and your in-laws certainly don't look 80. But they do look happy, as do the rest of your party.
I used to dream of being married "forever", but it wasn't to be.

Your family is very handsome and your in-laws are a lucky couple.

I would be celebrating my 62nd wedding anniversary on the 27th of this month had my husband lived. Sadly we only made it to 35 (nearly 36) when cancer took him.

Congrats to the "lovelies"
I think it is wonderful that you maintain such a rich relationship with them. You can never have too many people that you share love with in your life.
Speaking of love,
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that 1st shot. I am very protective of my food. It is very serious business!
