Friday Fuckwit or "How to be self-deprecating on your Birthday"

Quickie tonight.

I've managed to escape from this week's self-inflicted shit fight at work that saw me reprimanded for lack of attention to detail to the point where I'm checking everything 100 times and looking for a new job just in case I'm asked to walk through the revolving door of the Executive Suite.

All my fault and getting used to new systems and ways of doing things without any mentor to shadow my every move. I've made a few boo-boos this week. Nothing to have a cow about but someone thought they were a hanging offence . . well lesson learned I guess.

Not all bad, they sang happy birthday to me as I left this afternoon so I guess I'm still employed for a while . . . but the Friday Fuckwit definitely goes to ME who not only printed out month old Action Items for my GM's Peer Review but also this afternoon, spent about 20 minutes wondering why my key wouldn't work in my car door before realising that it was not my car!

Someone else with an old Honda Accord had parked next to me, same colour, same age . . .it was only when I noticed it didn't have seat covers that I realised my mistake. Normally, I can tell my car by the thick layer of dust on the duco but since my Nephew detailed it a couple of weeks ago, it looks half respectable!

Slunk into my own car and pootled home. Fucking fucktard fuckwit! Perhaps she who doubts my attention to detail has a point! Managed to get the board papers out tho! Ner!

Have a great weekend folks. Its a nothing-worth-celebrating birthday for me today so I'm out for dinner with a couple of friends I haven't seen for a decade . . so, so, looking forward to it. Breakfast at a 'secret' location tomorrow, organised by the kidlets and the Outlaws Family Picnic day on Sunday so posting might be sparse.

Other October 16th birthdays ironically are in Irish Rector's families - Happy birthday to the pseudonomically named Hannah Montana - kiddywink of the Rambling Rural Rector and to lovely Rev. Ian Poulton! See, sometimes I remember.

Happy Birthday, Hope you have a blast of a week-end, a few Tinnies and Vino's... and forget about work for a while ....

Well, I would say printing out a month-old document and trying to unlock the wrong car show a distinct lack in the attention-to-detail department. The words pot, kettle and black come to mind.

Happy Birthday!!!!!

I'm often drowning in a sea of detail myself.

Happy birthday Baino. You know what they say about the detail - it's where the devil is. So stay clear of it. Fuckwits of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your charm.

I too did that car thing 2 weeks ago and the lady was trying to get in behind me I made a joke and said yours was cleaner I wanted it. Hope you cekebrated in some honor you style..sandy

Today is probably a day late down there but why not say it again? Happy Birthday!

The work place sounds a little harsh...and with me I just get stressed then the brain really does go stupid and I make even more mistakes!

Deep breath!

Thank you everyone. I'm very blessed to have such a lovely bloggy following. You're all very thoughtful and I had a lovely evening on my birthday and a sunny breakfast with my sister, nephew, niece and son, all paid for by my wonderful daughter so it was indeed a very nice event. Oh did I tell you my kids bought me a new 50mm lens so expect some super pics. It's awesome.

Good stuff, can't imagine what you were thinking with the car thing! Perhaps you multi-task too much, mutli-tasking's supposed to cause poor performance all 'round you know; fact!

I am looking forward to the new pics from your new camera lens.
It's good to be back here.

Happy, happy birthday Baino!!! Love and luck and happiness and laughter and all that you love most (plus the time to enjoy them) in the year ahead!

And I have done that thing with the car a few times myself ... I comfort myself knowing that my mother #1 left her car running the entire time she was in the grocery store shopping and wondered why the car was so cool when it was 100 degrees out, #2 left her groceries with the grocery boy at the front door, who was to help her load her bags into the car, only she got in her car and drove home forgetting all the bags until she got back to our house, and #3 drove through newly painted road lines and plastered her car with neon yellow road paint that was so dramatic the man who repainted her car said, "What? Did you drive through the BUCKET OF PAINT?!" :D

Love and more love to you!

Happy Birthday or should I say Joyeux Anniversaire! So you received a new lens – a 50 mm what type? Thanks also for writing a comm on my blog. I did not realize that Mcmansions were growing up in Australia – I thought it was just a US phenomenon. When I read your problems at work I remember all the nasty characters at my work and I am so pleased that I am retired – sometimes I feel guilty to be so pleased no to have to work – well, not really --- I have not embraced the Puritan ethic that much yet and thankfully have kept much of my Gallic laziness. I hope you have a great year and much fun with your new lens – let us see the results.

It's not Monday yet, is it? I really need to figure out the time diff and KEEP it figured out but as you know my brain is mush, mush, mushy lately!

Do I really need to wish you happy birthday for the third time?

Oh yes, I think so! Happy Birthday!

I have made more mistakes than I care to think of in my 'new' job - but hey, we all make mistakes.... don't worry so much - they wouldn't have employed you if they thought you weren't up to the job!!

Belated Happy Birthday Hells - sorry its late - this is why all my family have a 'birthday week'!!!

True River but this is a very unforgiving workplace. I'm working on Positive!

Thank you Marianna and health for you too. You've had a rough trot.

Happy birthday back Wuffa . . well I thought my old Honda was unique. To top it off someone stole the Honda sign on my boot yesterday!

Thanks Tony. Did they? My brother has an "Old Trafford" sign over his front door, he's nuts for them.

kj you gave me two cakes . . sweeeeet!

Oh Gleds . .tell me when it is and I'll make a fuss,!

Thanks Mildadysa and thank you for the card.

I did e it was lovely.

Oh Otin, you are my crush.

Yeh heard that Unstranger, tell it to my boss!

No worries Steph . .glad you had visitors and a weekend distraction

Hehe . . I'll bore you batty Auntie!

Mel you are the sweetest and I'm so envious that you and Miladysa and kj are finally goint to meet up! Getting a little absent minded in my old age I guess. Although I have always struggled finding my car in multi storey car parks since I was 18!

Thank you mon cheri (prolly spelled that wrong too!) Canon, I have a 400D good for beginners camera but the lens is fantastic. Well work's a means to an end so I need to just concentrate, not make mistakes and be thankful that I get paid each fortnight.

No poppet, it's Sunday . . we're a day ahead. No you don't . . courage sweetheart!

Hey Kate . . .it's true but mine were careless. Now I'm so paranoid I'm bound to stuff up . .then again. . .she wished me happy birthday and made the whole department do the same so perhaps it's all in my head. Take care you.

Thanks everyone. I'm really very moved. I'm very lucky to have such a nice bunch of followers.
