Love Reigns

I just watched a movie called 'Reign on Me' with Adam Sandler. Unusually serious and rather resonating but the closing credits bought a real feeling of de ja vous. Love Reigns O'er Me. I'd forgotten this song from my high school years and it made realise how cool some of the 70's stuff was. Of course the original was in 1973 with Roger Daltry and The Who remade by Pearl Jam (gotta love that Eddie Vedder) but there's nothing like the original.

Excuse me while I get all JD:

Only love
Can make it rain
The way the beach is kissed by the sea
Only love
Can make it rain
Like the sweat of lovers
Laying in the fields.

Love, Reign o'er me
Love, Reign o'er me, rain on me

Only love
Can bring the rain
That makes you yearn to the sky
Only love
Can bring the rain
That falls like tears from on high

Love Reign O'er me

On the dry and dusty road
The nights we spend apart alone
I need to get back home to cool cool rain
I can't sleep and I lay and I think
The night is hot and black as ink
Oh God, I need a drink of cool cool rain

Great Band The Who. Loudest band in the world at the time. At the Wembly leg of their recent revival tour this conversation between Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend was overheard on the tour bus.

R.D: Is this Wembely?
P.T: No it's Thursday.
R.D: So am I, lets go for a pint.

Ha ha!

Those are some great lyrics.
I've to shuffle off now and see can I download it somehow to hear it! Or I can call you and you can sing it to me. 6 of 1, half dozen of the other, really.

B3N: Haha . . yep loved 'em but they were locked in the recesses of my over packed brain (excuse for fading memory)and I'd forgotten all about that one. Ah those were the days!
K8: I might have welsh ancestry but I haven't inherited the voice. You'll just have to wait for broadband!

We can't stop here; this is bat country.

Daz: You angry young man! Now I have to go and watch Fear and Loathing and listen to Avenged Sevenfold! Hardly 'The Who'

The Who Rocks! :)

Thank you for getting all (JD). :-) Those are some fantastic lyrics that ring true.

'Reign on Me' caused me to get in touch with my feelings. (A truly very bad idea.) :)

Here's proof:

Thanks Baino. :)

Aww JD. You're such a . . .metro male! Talk to me for half an hour and I'll turn you into a rugger bugga! *evil grin* Damn good song tho. Can't believe I forgot it. Senility is quite exciting when you rediscover stuff.

Guess what DVD my excellent accidental terrorist brought home last night?!?!

What an excellent flick. Adam Sandler nailed that role.

I'm so bored today. Tat's got a free ticket to the Rolling Stones and I'm unbelievably jealous.
He's going to feel a crossfire hurricane tomorrow.

K8: Thats spooky. Good movie tho. I reckon if they ever did a bio of Bob Dylan, Sandler's a shoe-in! Girl . .when do you move? You need Broadband and Skype so you can chat to an antipodean insomniac! I'll keep you amused. Besides, you don't really wanna see a bunch of old men cavorting around the stage do you? Gimme shelter!

Ha! Speaking of shelter, it is pissing it down EVERYWHERE today. The Bones'll be a washout!! Perhaps not so jealous after all..

I just wish I could be inspired to DO something today.

I won't be moving out for a looong time yet. *sigh*
For low quality building, they sure do take their time.

Would you prefer for me to sing Any Dream Will Do??

I'll do it, I swear! Just try me!

Thank you Daz that would be lovely. Made famous by our own Jason Donovan . . bring some friends for the chorus . .
